in 1991 in Collaboration with WHO, the department has all the paraphernalia
of a modern publishing house in terms of men and material. The department
is housed in a separate building consisting of operational areas/units,
and editorial suit. The department is catering for cent percent regular,
occasional and office printing requirement of the College. The work
ranges from routine printing of office stationery to guidance booklets,
promotional materials, regular publications including monthly newsletter,
Bulletin, monthly JCPSP, MEDLIP, Directory of fellows. The printing
department is an all-season, one-roof facility with totally integrated
sectoral units viz. desk-top publishing, filming, and plate making,
printing and binding.
BULLETIN
The Bulletin
is a monthly newsletter of the College. It is sent to all the fellows
and members of the College in addition to a diverse clientele of about
4000. In pursuance of cardinal journalistic principle, it informs,
enlightens and educates its readers about the College activities,
calendar of various CME programmes, workshops and other important
meetings both domestic and international. The newsletter maintains
a rapport between the College and its fellows and serves as a source
of networking for the medical community. The current

JCPSP
The Journal
of the College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan is a peer-review,
primary journal dedicated to the promotion of medical research.
It enjoys national and international recognition and is registered
with ISO standard system (ISSN-1022-86X) with key title JCPSP. Published
monthly, JCPSP contains editorials, original research papers, case
reports, reviews and commentaries, comprehensively peer reviewed and
edited. It also includes original papers from dissertations of the
fellows of the College. Strict adherence to "good editorial practices"
has earned it approval of the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council.
The journal is also being indexed / abstracted by EMBASE the Excerpta
Medica database, Netherlands; the Index Medicus of WHO, the Extra
Med, London, Periodica Islamica, Malaysia; CAB International, UK and
other biomedical secondary publications. The journal has also been
included in Ulrich's International Periodical Directory, USA. It has
an extensively wide spectrum of circulation and is sent to all the
fellows of the College, the libraries of the medical institutions,
hospitals, the Universities and their related departments, Pakistani
missions abroad, the Royal Colleges, all Pakistani medical and related
journals in exchange and the subscribers. The Journal is also dispatched
to 22 different international indexing and abstracting agencies, organizations
and journals.

MEDLIP
MEDLIP (Medical
Literature Indexing Services in Pakistan). The MEDLIP provides access
to the health sciences published in the journals from Pakistan. Included
is the index on these journals that are recognized as standard ones
by the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council. The library published
two volumes covering the period from 1991 to 1994. The last edition
was published in 2001 and 2002 and 2003 are in process. The arrangement
of MEDLIP is by subject, however an author index is also provided
