| Library of Diagnostic Radiology |
|
| Taking
note of a general deficiency in the ability to interpret different
pathologies on conventional radiology as well as on recent modalities
at both the undergraduate and post-graduate levels, the CPSP established
the Library of Diagnostic Radiology in 1997 to remedy the deficiency.
The library is a learning resource centre where students/trainees
overcome their shortfalls, on a self-learning basis, and practice
their diagnostic skills in reading x-rays, computer-assisted Tomography,
MRI and sonograms. The library has four components: X-ray Film Library,
Audio-Visual Section, Radiology Books & Journals and Cyber Teaching.
The x-ray section contains classical teaching of x-ray films covering all the system, radiological comments, diagnoses and information about particular disease. The audio-visual section has 800 video-cassettes containing lectures of eminent radiologists on latest development in modern imaging like CT, CTA, MR, MRA, U/S, ECHO and DOPPLER. The library contains huge collection of books and other reference materials and journals of radiology. It has a new computer system, with numerous compact discs to allow users to retrieve any information from any library or journal across the world. |
