Clinical
Pharmacology
Department
of the Clinical Pharmacology & Therapeutics was established
at CPSP in December, 1993. The activities of this department involve
the teaching of Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics to postgraduate
students and research in drug utilization and prescription analysis.
Since
the establishment of this department the following programmes
have been started:
FCPS
in Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics: The prospectus
of this programme has been published and is available
National
Adverse Drug Reaction (ADR) Monitoring Centre has been established
in this department. A form for reporting suspected ADR is available
which has been widely distributed to the medical institutions and
members of medical professions throughout Pakistan.
The
Uppsala Monitoring Centre of WHO has granted the status of Associate
Member to this Centre. ADR reports, though not as many as expected,
are being received by this Centre and processed.
The
department has organized many workshops and seminars on teaching
of Clinical Pharmacology and ADR Monitoring.
