Prof. Zafar Ullah Chaudhry, President CPSP, addressing a Press Conference at the National Headquarters, told the National Press that the College has become a symbol of unity and federation; as it has its regional centers at and trainees from all parts of the country. This is the only postgraduate medical institution that has a unified curricula and training. He emphasized that though there are many universities to conduct MD and MS programs, but they all differ in their curricula and training. CPSP is the only institution that has a singular curricula and same training at all the institutions that are accredited by CPSP, which thus means that they are able to impart training and skills according to the singular training programs of CPSP.

The College during these fifty years has trained about 19,000 specialists which include 11,481 FCPS, 7,199 MCPS and 142 DCPS. All these postgraduates were trained in different fields of specialized medicine and surgery.

The College, which began its journey with a building built in 1967 at Karachi, now has 14 regional centers and 3 overseas centers. The College has 150 accredited institutions within the country and 111 departments at overseas, to train our 14,664 trainees presently. The College has 8,178 trainees in Punjab, 4,071 in Sindh, 1,996 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 242 in Baluchistan and 177 at overseas.
The College has 2,346 supervisors in at all parts of the country and 138 at overseas to train these specialists.
The College certified 826 fellows and 2,645 MCPS during the first 28 years of its establishment. But this very institution trained and certified 4,040 fellows and 2,685 MCPS during the Twelve years that followed. Now, in the last 9 years, the College trained another 6,615 fellows, 1,849 MCPS and 142 DCPS.
Responding to a query by a Journalist, the President informed that the College always maintained its standards and never compromised on the quality of our curricula and training as it can affect our collaboration and reciprocity of our certifications with the Royal Colleges of UK and other countries. The President asserted that the competence of our specialists in their respective fields are comparable to their counterparts from the developed World.
To another question, the President informed that College does nullify and/or suspend the accreditation of its training institutions and departments if they are found to be failing in compliance with the College requirements. He added that recently College has suspended the accreditation of some of very important departments and institutions.
Responding to another query, Prof. Chaudhry said that CPSP annual budget is around Rs. 290 Millions and is entirely self generated.
